Mount Dora is a cute town not too far outside of Orlando, with great architecture, shopping, restaurants and antiques. Well worth a visit!
C. Madeleines is a luxury vintage consignment shop in North Miami, and is my heaven! They have all of the tools to let your inner drag queen loose, and boy did I. I love eccentric clothes and accessories…to me, the bigger, the better! Needless to say, I tried on feathers and fur galore…I don’t usually post photos of myself on this blog, but these pieces come to life on a body, and I was happy to oblige. 😉
Navigli means “canals” in Italian. There are two main canals remaining in Milano: Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese, which form an upside-down V shape on a map. The Navigli neighborhood is where I called home. It is a charming area full of unpretentious cafés, boutiques, and bars, and is a hotspot for starting the weekend off with an aperitivo. I like it during the day more, because it is quiet and unassuming, and there are plenty of vintage shops to visit.
The last Sunday of each month there is a HUGE antique market in the streets surrounding the navigli, which I absolutely loved…I spent hours there each month, and highly recommend it to anyone who likes antiques/vintage. Prices are high, but it is worth a look!
As far as true antiques go, I cannot be sure what is and what isn’t…I am no expert, but I go for what I like and bargain from there. Today was miserably cold, which helped me get some great deals! My advice for anyone visiting this place is to remember that almost nothing here is unique…if you see it in one shop, you’ll see it again. If you don’t, you can always go back. Bargain hard! I would say down to at least half of the original price, but most likely 70%.
