The terracotta warriors. This masterpiece of historical China was awe-inspiring and overwhelming…and keep in mind these were only discovered in the 1970’s when some farmers were digging for a well! Amazing.
The terracotta figures are life-sized. They vary in height, uniform, and hairstyle in accordance with rank. Most originally held real weapons such as spears, swords, or crossbows. Originally, the figures were also painted with bright pigments, variously coloured pink, red, green, blue, black, brown, white and lilac…to be honest, I prefer them faded.
I love the patterns and colors made in the earth by farms, and that we don’t really notice until we are in the air.
And how about those clouds?! It was so bright outside, I used my sunglasses as a DIY lens filter…they look unreal!
The sheer amount of product in this market is overwhelming & awesome!!! Shells, beads, pearls, coral, stone…the options were great, and the colors…I was on color OVERLOAD!
I spent so much time mixing colors, wanting to buy it all! I spent 4 hours on only one floor of this 4 floor building…yes, you read that right.
