Happy Chinese New Year to all…year of the rabbit, courtesy of Causeway Bay, Hong Kong!
Today we did something I had wanted to do for quite a while…we went to the restaurant featured in Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations HK. It’s an unassuming restaurant packed to the gills with people…sharing tables with others is the norm here. Yat Lok BBQ restaurant is known for it’s roasted goose and suckling pig. We tried both! Goose vs. Pig: Goose won, hands down! What a delicious way to spend an afternoon…

These buildings are what I think of when I think of Hong Kong…a little ramshackle, but full of character.
HK is one of my favorite cities in the world because of the contrast between the old & worn and the slick new city life…I love both sides equally!
I have a few books that are worth buying on the topic of buildings in HK:
City of Darkness: Life in Kowloon City
If you know of other books along these lines, I would be happy if you post suggestions in the comments below.
