ORIGIN: THE CONTEMPORARY CRAFT FAIR. london

Yesterday evening we met our friend Paul McAllister at Origin.  It is London Design Week, and many shows that I’ve seen this week were highlighting craft, which is refreshing since usually craft and design are seen as separate entities.

Here are a few of my favorites from the show:

Anthony Theakston

Gary Allson

John Alfredo Harris

Momoko Kumai

Pacha Design

Paul McAllister

THE POWER OF MAKING. london

Recently saw a great exhibit at the V&A called “The Power of Making.”   It is a great show highlighting the work behind beautiful objects, which so often goes unnoticed.  The process in itself can be the art form.

TO LONDON!

TO LONDON!

I saw this on a label at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and thought it was a very appropriate image for today.  I am moving to London tonight!  Posts may be slow to start until I settle in, but there will be plenty of great new photos soon.

Here’s to new adventures!
